嘩!咩車黎架?話說某日文偉電單車中心見到這臺1924年款的Sunbeam Model 5超古董電單車的車主Simon造訪文偉時,文偉馬上打電話通知<a href="https://www.ibike.com.hk/" target="_top">鐵騎網誌</a>(帶興奮的急速喘氣聲):「你地行唔行得開呀?哦,得呀,咁快d落黎丫,有部勁野o黎左!」(喘氣聲...) 三十分鐘後iBike仆到落到去都有少少喘氣。見到眼前這臺仿似是國產鳳凰單車的古董電單車時,口裡都不禁「嘩」了出來。襯埋車主Simon個造型,簡直係「時光倒流七十年」咁o既feel....唔止呀,有八十年呀))))))睇下當年SunBeam電單車的廣告,幾咁經典就知啦!

英國第一臺Sun Beam電單車,是由當時巳年屆76高齡的Mr. John Marston所領導的John Marston Ltd在1912年推出。為何要John Marston要到垂暮之年,才有第一臺電單車作品呢?John Marston自1871年成立自己的企業後,一直都從事製作單車業務,而Sun Beam這名字則是來自他太太Ellen的提議而命名。Sun Beam靠製作單車起家,同時亦研究汽車和電單車。 但原來John Marston一向不主張電單車,因為他認為在單車上放置發動機十分危險,而他本人亦一次也沒有騎過電單車。所以Marston的公司雖早在1903年便開始研發電單車,但步伐一直不太積極。直到後來Marston在汽車市場上節節敗退,才不得已轉往日益增長的電單車市場上發展。</td><td bgcolor="#ffff00"><img height="200" src="https://www.ibike.com.hk/01_bike_report/local/others/sunbeam_model2_1924/john.jpg" width="180" align="left" border="0" alt=""/></td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr><tr><td width="760" colspan="2"><p align="center">

Beam電單車的製作開始逐漸失去競爭力,最後終於在1936年把電單車業務轉售了第三者。新投資者正式成立了Sunbeam Motor Cycles Ltd,並把工廠由烏未罕普頓,搬移至倫敦繼續生產SunBeam電單車。</td><td width="402"><table id="table4" cellpadding="0" width="400" 以現代眼光來看,這臺Sun Beam Model 5的風冷二衝程OHV單汽缸500cc引擎馬力只得3.5hp,當然不值一晒。但別忘記萬丈高樓由地起,如果沒有這些由前人種落的根基,現今電單車何來這麼高超的製作科技?Sun Beam電單車雖然簡陋,但別有一番歷史價值。 <p align="left">車主Simon本身是KTM車主, 一向玩開大馬力電單車。今次有幸從英國成功搶購這臺古董電單車並把它帶回香港,作為香港電單車車迷,當然極為珍惜這份機緣。

SunBeam Model 2經歷了八十年歲月洗禮,到今時今日重行得走得,果然係寶刀未老!不過騎住呢架Model 5出街,其他車真係要就一就!因為極速只得64km/h,難為Simon重要由西貢騎到出筲箕灣,堅!
